Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an aluminum fence with aluminum slats?
The LINE slats and base-plate posts are galvanized steel. The Base and Stackable Connectors are aluminum, while the L Connectors are stainless steel. Private Black is the selected metal finish, rather than a different infill material.
What should I buy for one separate section?
Allow four two-slat packs, the listed semi-privacy hardware and two welded-base posts. The one-post share in Component Needs applies to a connected run, with free ends counted separately. Supply ground anchors for the bases as an additional purchase.
Why does the one-inch label differ from the three-inch clearance?
One inch is the nominal spacing pattern inside the infill. The matched connectors set the installed slat opening. Three inches is the ground gap below the fence. Follow both dimensions in their own locations when planning the layout.
