Eight horizontal slats give this LINE horizontal metal fence its nominal one-inch spacing. The Private Black section measures a nominal 8 ft wide by 3.5 ft high. Its open rows make it a semi-private fencing option, with a separate three-inch gap beneath the lowest slat.
Steel is the main infill and post material. The galvanized slats have a powder-coated finish that helps resist corrosion and outdoor wear. Their straight rows give the fence design a modern horizontal appearance. Aluminum spacing components and stainless steel L Connectors secure the slats within the post system.
Four LINE packs supply exactly eight slats. Pair them with the Semi-Privacy Hardware Kit, using sixteen Base Connectors, fourteen Stackable Connectors and two L Connectors. The complete kit and the installed parts have different counting bases; Component Needs shows both the material share and the quantities used by this section.
Plan fencing installation around the dimensions for this item. Its drawing gives a 42-inch fence height, 44 inches of post above ground and 13 inches below. The 114-inch stock post supplies short supports after splitting and trimming. An extra cap completes a pair made from one stock kit.
Compare the metal fence options when selecting a pattern for your outdoor space. Use this eight-slat recipe for the one-inch design, then count shared posts, free ends and hardware supplies across the whole project.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does nominal one-inch spacing describe the gap below the panel?
It describes the spacing pattern between the steel slats. The ground gap is three inches. The installed slat opening follows the matched connector assembly, so use the one-inch design's parts rather than treating every dimension as an exact one-inch measurement.
Are the posts, hardware and slats all supplied in one box?
They are separate products. Four LINE packs supply the eight slats. Add the listed semi-privacy hardware, post stock and extra cap for each original post cut into two. Combine material requirements and check the individual connector counts before ordering complete kits for the run.
How do I count the short posts along several sections?
A connected bay shares compatible supports with its neighbors. Count each post location once and add supports at the free ends. Each short post uses half of the specified 114-inch stock. A kit supplies one cap, so calculate extra caps for the paired cuts and remaining inventory shortfall across the entire layout.
