Select the post and mounting option for your planned wood fence. You provide the wood boards.

Pair Your Wood with Coated Steel Posts

Modern Yard supplies the steel supports and selected fitting parts. You choose and source the wood infill for the privacy layout.

Steel Supports with a Private Black Finish

The posts use 16-gauge galvanized steel with a powder-coated finish. Private Black provides a consistent metal finish beside your timber. Follow the coating-care guidance for scratches and exposed cut edges.

Choose the Fit for Your Own Wood

Match the actual timber dimensions to the groove configuration and its inserts or adapters. The steel support stays central to the design; wood supply and board movement remain separate parts of your project.

Modern Yard offers four groove-size configurations. These use different matching parts; they are not four slots in one bare post.

Match the Groove Configuration to Your Infill

Three-Quarter-Inch Configuration

This configuration uses a rubber strip. Match the actual infill thickness and selected parts to the reviewed fence layout. A nominal wood size alone does not establish the fit.

One-Inch Configuration

This option uses the LINE spring-action structure with EVA filling. Select the matching hardware kit for the chosen configuration. The one-inch dimension describes the groove configuration, not an open gap between boards.

One-and-One-Eighth-Inch Configuration

This uses the post groove itself. Provide the actual infill dimensions so the reviewer can check the fit, height, and supports together.

One-and-One-Half-Inch Configuration for Timber Sleepers

This option uses the specified adapter for pressure-treated timber sleepers. Choose it for that infill application rather than treating it as a universal wood connector. Check the selected parts on the order. Each post configuration needs its own specified inserts or adapters. Use the wood-infill fitting guide to compare those connections, then select the post model for the site.

Wood Privacy Fence Ideas with Steel Posts

Use the same steel post finish to connect outdoor spaces and support the curb appeal of your entrance. Adapt each fence style to the views and access around that part of the property.

Patio Edge

Plan the screen behind the seating area. Keep the post positions clear of doors, steps, and planting access, and check views from neighboring windows.

Side Yard

Preserve the route between the house and boundary. Put the gate where its swing clears the path and nearby walls.

Rear Boundary

Review the view from both yards. Mark corners, short return sections, and changes in ground level before repeating the post layout.

Complete the Post and Gate Plan

Use one measured drawing to coordinate the fixed screen, support conditions, and moving gate.
