Twelve horizontal slats define this Surface Mount metal fence in Private Black. The 1-inch-gap design spaces the LINE rows apart across a nominal 8 × 5 ft fence panel. The openings leave partial views through the infill.
Galvanized steel forms the slats. Their Private Black powder coating helps resist corrosion and outdoor wear. Aluminum Base and Stackable Connectors hold the spaced arrangement. Stainless steel L Connectors serve the top, while matching steel posts support the completed section.
This layout finishes at a 60-inch fence height, with 62-inch posts and one inch of ground clearance. Use the 74-inch steel post products with welded base plates. Trim their tops to the listed finished height while keeping the bases in place. Supply ground anchors separately.
Six two-slat packs provide the twelve installed rows. The spacing hardware and posts are separate purchases. For several fence panels, count all shared post positions and free ends before ordering the support products.
The half-inch Surface Mount pattern at this size needs thirteen slats instead of twelve. It also uses two Base Connectors and twenty-four Stackable Connectors, compared with twenty-four and twenty-two here. The selected opening pattern determines those parts; welded post bases and customer-supplied anchors serve a separate mounting function.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the LINE Base Connectors used to anchor the posts?
The Base Connectors belong to the slat hardware. They are separate from the welded plates beneath the posts and the ground anchors you supply. This section uses twenty-four Base Connectors, twenty-two Stackable Connectors and two L Connectors.
Can I buy the listed 0.4 set as a separate partial kit?
The 0.4 set records a material allowance for one section. Combine the project requirements and buy complete hardware kits. Six LINE packs supply the twelve slats for each section; the post products are separate.
How does the mounting plan change for a connected run?
An independent panel needs two welded-base posts. Adjacent sections share the support at their connection, so count each post location once and include the free ends. Ground anchors remain a separate, customer-supplied purchase for the bases.
