Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Charcoal and Redwood boards and covered metal gate parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Charcoal and Redwood board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently asked questions
How many packs supply the two board colors?
Buy one four-board Charcoal pack and two four-board Redwood packs for this gate alone. Use one Charcoal board and five Redwood boards, leaving three unused boards of each color. For a larger project, combine each color's requirements before rounding to full packs.
What posts does this small gate require?
Use two 98-inch steel post products. The drawing calls for 45 inches above ground and 24 below. Retain the specified gate post at a shared fence connection and count that support once.
How do I clean the mixed composite face?
Wash both board colors with mild soap and water, using a soft brush or cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive tools on the composite surfaces.
