Six horizontal Teak board pieces create the closed face of this composite fence gate. The nominal 3.5 × 3.5 ft single leaf uses a welded aluminum gate frame between two galvanized steel posts. Assemble the selected composite infill on site within the prefabricated frame.
The Teak composite materials combine wood fibers with recycled plastic. Their wood-grain surfaces resist moisture, insects, rot and fading without regular painting, staining or sealing. Teak names the board color, while Private Black identifies the selected metal finish.
The gate frame, board packs and post products are separate purchases. Six original boards supply the installed cut pieces. For this gate alone, two four-board packs provide those six boards and leave two originals unused. A combined project quote can total compatible board stock before selecting whole packs.
The engineering dimensions distinguish the nominal size from the finished layout. The drawing gives a 43¼-inch gate height, 45-inch posts above ground and 24 inches below. Ground clearance is 1½ inches. Check the clear opening and post-center spacing before placing the supports.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Teak boards and covered metal gate parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Teak board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently asked questions
Should I set the posts exactly 3.5 feet apart?
Use the engineering opening dimensions. The clear opening is approximately 42⅜ inches, with 45⅝ inches between post centers. The 3.5 ft width is the nominal gate size and does not replace those installation measurements.
How should I clean the Teak faces?
Wash the composite surfaces with mild soap and water, using a soft brush or cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive tools. This care advice applies to the boards; the frame and operating hardware have separate material requirements.
How do I order the gate with an adjoining fence?
Show the gate position and neighboring fence sections in a complete fence project quote. Include Teak, horizontal full privacy and the nominal 3.5 × 3.5 ft size. The combined order can count shared posts once and total board stock before rounding the packs.
