Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Charcoal and Redwood boards and covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Charcoal and Redwood board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many whole packs supply one Redwood and Charcoal panel?
With no spare boards, two four-board Redwood packs and one Charcoal pack supply six Redwood boards and one Charcoal board. For several composite fence panels, add each color’s demand across the order before purchasing complete packs.
Is the Charcoal accent a separate metal component?
The accent is a Charcoal composite board. It joins the Redwood boards with the same tongue-and-groove edges. Steel posts and aluminum rails form the separate metal supports.
What should I plan for the Surface Mount bases?
You provide the ground anchors for the welded bases. Count shared posts once in a continuous run and include free-standing ends; an isolated section needs two installed posts.
