Redwood vertical composite fencing forms the lower body of this nominal 8 × 4 ft fence panel. Sixteen upright pieces sit beneath two horizontal Private Black LINE slats. The steel top leaves open spaces above the joined wood-grain faces.
The composite fence boards combine wood fibers and recycled plastic. Their Redwood surfaces resist moisture, insects, rot and fading without regular painting, staining or sealing. Steel U rails and aluminum connectors frame the board area, while separate LINE hardware supports the upper slats.
The complete panel stands 48 inches high, with posts extending 50 inches above ground. Browse the vertical composite fence range to compare upright-board layouts.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Redwood boards and covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Redwood board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.
Email service@mymodernyard.com with purchase records, photos, product details and the issue. Expect a decision or next steps within 7–14 business days. Contact Modern Yard for full warranty terms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the four-foot size include the open top?
Yes. The 48-inch fence height covers the Redwood body and both LINE slats. The posts finish at 50 inches above ground, excluding their caps.
How many original Redwood boards supply the lower panel?
Eight full-length boards, sold in two four-board packs, provide sixteen short pieces. One separate LINE pack supplies the two steel slats. The vertical rail set and LINE hardware are separate products.
How should I clean the Redwood board faces?
Use mild soap, water and a soft brush or cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive tools. The composite area needs no routine paint, stain or sealer.
