Sixteen upright Teak pieces and two Private Black LINE slats give this composite fence panel its slatted top. The nominal 8 × 4 ft format includes both the joined board body and open metal detail.
Wood fibers and recycled plastic form the Teak composite. Its wood-grain faces resist moisture, insects, rot and fading without routine painting, staining or sealing. The upper slats use powder-coated galvanized steel to help resist corrosion and outdoor wear.
A Vertical Fence Rail Set frames the lower infill; separate connectors hold the top slats. Compare other layouts in the vertical composite fencing overview.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Teak boards and covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Teak board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.
Email service@mymodernyard.com with purchase records, photos, product details and the issue. Expect a decision or next steps within 7–14 business days. Contact Modern Yard for full warranty terms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the slatted top added above a four-foot board fence?
The four-foot format includes the Teak body and steel top. It does not add another height allowance above the complete section.
What should I buy for the composite body and the top?
Use two Teak packs, one Vertical Fence Rail Set, one LINE pack and the listed semi-privacy hardware. Order the steel posts separately.
What routine care applies to the Teak faces?
Wash the composite with mild soap and water, using a soft brush or cloth. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive tools off the Teak surfaces.
