Eight horizontal slats create the open rows of this Private Black horizontal metal fence. Half-inch gaps separate the LINE slats across a nominal 8 ft width. The three-foot fence height gives the section a low profile, with a separate one-inch gap beneath the infill.
The slats and posts are galvanized steel with powder coating. The slat finish helps resist corrosion and outdoor wear, while the straight rows bring clean lines to an outdoor space. Aluminum Base and Stackable Connectors position the steel infill, with stainless steel L Connectors at the top.
Four two-slat packs supply the eight installed slats. Buy the Semi-Privacy Hardware Kit separately and follow this section's connector quantities. The metal fence options help with material selection and comparisons between open and closed fence panels.
The In-Ground supports use split 114-inch post stock, trimmed for the listed height. Each installed post has 38 inches above ground and 12 below. A stock kit supplies one cap; cutting it into two supports requires one additional cap. Calculate shared posts, free ends and kit supplies across the whole run.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the half-inch measurement apply?
It is the clear opening between neighboring horizontal slats. The one-inch ground gap sits beneath the lowest slat. The fence height is 36 inches, so these dimensions describe different parts of the same layout.
Do I order four slats or four packs?
Order four LINE packs for the eight-slat infill; each pack contains two slats. The post stock, semi-privacy hardware and extra cap are separate products. Hardware quantities shown in Component Needs describe the installed connectors. Combine requirements across your project before buying complete kits.
Is this an aluminum fence panel?
The LINE slats and supporting posts are galvanized steel. Aluminum forms the Base and Stackable Connectors, while the L Connectors are stainless steel. Match the material list and the semi-privacy hardware to this eight-slat fence design.
