Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

How does this metal privacy fence compare with spaced LINE styles?
The closed model uses nine slats and a half-inch ground gap. A semi privacy fence with half-inch gaps uses eight slats and one inch below it. Nominal one-inch spacing uses seven slats and two inches below.
The spaced models need semi-privacy hardware. All three remain nominally three feet high, so the closed layout does not screen views above that height.
Why do the two short posts need another cap?
One stock kit supplies a 114-inch post and one cap. This drawing uses two 50-inch finished posts, each with 38 inches above ground and 12 below. Cut the stock for both supports and buy a second standard cap to finish their tops.
What should I order for the nine steel slats?
Five LINE packs contain ten slats, leaving one spare after this nine-slat installation. Include full-privacy hardware with its connectors and EVA. The post stock and extra cap are separate purchases. LINE slats use galvanized steel; the base connectors and post caps use aluminum.
