This modern horizontal fence uses seven Private Black LINE slats with nominal one-inch spacing. The horizontal metal fence measures a nominal 8 ft wide by 3 ft high. Open rows show through the infill, and a separate two-inch ground gap sits below the lowest slat.
Galvanized steel forms the slats and posts. Their powder-coated finish gives the section its Private Black color. The protective slat coating helps resist corrosion and outdoor wear. Straight horizontal slats create clean lines while keeping this fencing option open between rows.
Use the connector arrangement for the one-inch design: fourteen Base Connectors, twelve Stackable Connectors and two L Connectors. The aluminum spacing parts and stainless steel L Connectors serve different roles. Component Needs gives their installed quantities alongside the hardware-kit share used for material planning.
Seven slats use 3.5 two-slat packs of material. Add the slat requirements across the complete project before rounding up to full packs. Explore the metal fence options to compare spacing patterns, then order this layout's matching hardware and post stock.
For the short In-Ground supports, split a 114-inch post and trim to the specified finished height. Each support has 38 inches above ground and 12 below. Count shared locations and free ends before buying posts, and allow for the extra cap needed when one stock kit supplies two supports.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the one-inch gap an exact installed dimension?
One inch is the nominal name for this spacing pattern. Its matched connector assembly sets the installed opening. Use the parts for this item rather than changing the half-inch pattern by eye. Ground clearance is a separate two-inch dimension below the fence.
Why does the slat requirement show 3.5 packs?
Each LINE pack contains two slats, so seven installed slats use three and a half packs of material. A single section needs four complete packs, leaving one spare slat. A longer run can combine those requirements before rounding up; do not add the spare to the seven-row layout.
Does this use the same hardware as the half-inch three-foot panel?
Both designs use the semi-privacy hardware product, but their installed connector quantities differ. This version needs fourteen Base Connectors and twelve Stackable Connectors, plus two L Connectors. Follow this item's Component Needs and count available parts across the project when choosing complete kits.
