Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Redwood boards and covered metal gate parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Redwood board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes. The combination lock and outdoor handle set are outside the periods listed above. Contact Modern Yard for the applicable separate warranty terms.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Is seven feet the width of each gate leaf?
Seven feet is the nominal width of the complete two-leaf assembly. Its drawing lists an 84¼-inch clear opening between the end posts. Use the engineering opening dimensions when laying out the gate.
Component Needs covers both leaves. Add adjoining fixed fence panels separately when planning the complete order.
Do both leaves need a combination lock?
The active leaf takes one lock. The other leaf uses the matching outdoor handle set with drop rod. Order both listed products separately from the frames, board packs and posts.
How do I include an adjoining Redwood fence panel?
Add the full double gate and each fixed fence section to a Redwood project quote. Count shared support locations once and keep the specified gate posts at those connections. The combined order can total compatible Redwood boards before rounding whole packs.
