This 7 ft Redwood composite privacy fence uses fourteen horizontal boards across a nominal 6 ft width. The closed board face has a wood-grain finish and Private Black framing. Choose this fence style when comparing taller composite fence panels with a continuous board layout.

The boards blend wood fibers and recycled plastic. Their composite surfaces resist moisture, insects, rot and fading without regular painting, staining or sealing. Redwood is the board color, rather than a species of lumber. Aluminum top and bottom rails frame the boards, and galvanized steel posts support the section.

Plan fence installation around this item's dimensions: 84 inches of fence height, a ½-inch ground gap and 86 inches of post above ground. The specified 114-inch post leaves 28 inches below ground. The horizontal composite fence system explains the board, rail and post choices for horizontal fencing.

Each bay uses fourteen boards, or 3.5 packs of material. Add the Redwood board requirements for the whole project before rounding up to full four-board packs. Count shared posts once and allow for free ends. This gives a material list based on the actual run instead of buying four packs for every bay.

  • Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):

    • Structural defects in Redwood boards and covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
    • Covered Redwood board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
    • Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
    • Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
    • Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.

For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.

Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.

Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.

Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.

For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.

Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.

We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Email service@mymodernyard.com with purchase records, photos, product details and the issue. Expect a decision or next steps within 7–14 business days. Contact Modern Yard for full warranty terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Redwood boards are wood-plastic composite, not solid redwood lumber. They have a wood-grain surface and need no regular painting, staining or sealing. Their steel posts and aluminum rails form the supporting fence system.

Fourteen installed boards use three and a half four-board packs of material. For a single bay, four complete packs provide sixteen boards and leave two unused. For several bays, combine the required boards before rounding the order to whole packs.

Use this item's 114-inch post and listed spacing. The drawing calls for 86 inches of post above ground and 28 inches below. An isolated bay needs two posts; consecutive bays share compatible posts. Check the full layout, including its ends, when counting supports.
