Sixteen upright Redwood boards create the closed face of this vertical composite fencing section. The nominal 8 × 6 ft fence panel combines wood-grain infill with Private Black metal posts and rails. Its full-privacy board pattern has no spaced rows or open decorative top.
The composite material blends natural wood fibers with recycled plastic. Redwood faces resist moisture, insects, rot and fading, without regular painting, staining or sealing. This wood-look surface gives the fence style its character while reducing the routine coating work associated with a wood fence.
Steel U rails frame the board ends at the top and bottom. The Vertical Fence Rail Set includes these rails and their aluminum connectors. It is a separate product from the composite board packs. Read the vertical composite fencing system overview for the upright arrangement.
The In-Ground layout uses 98-inch steel posts, with 74 inches above ground and 24 below. The drawing gives a 72-inch fence height and a half-inch ground gap. Post caps sit above the stated post height. Lay out the posts using the engineering center spacing. The nominal eight-foot width names the section format.
Four packs supply the sixteen boards. Add one vertical rail set per panel and count the post locations across the entire run. Adjacent sections share their supports; a separate bay needs two posts.
A straight three-section run uses forty-eight Redwood boards: twelve four-board packs. It has four post locations when the sections share their connecting supports. Separate sections use the same number of boards but need their own end supports. Identify the layout before adding the post products; board packaging and shared-post counting are separate parts of the material plan.
The matching 3.5 × 6 ft Redwood vertical single gate lists two 114-inch posts, with 74 inches above ground and 40 below. This fixed fence lists 98-inch posts with 24 inches below ground. The same above-ground height does not make the stock lengths interchangeable. Retain the specified gate post where the selected gate shares a support with the fence.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Redwood boards and covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Redwood board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.
Email service@mymodernyard.com with purchase records, photos, product details and the issue. Expect a decision or next steps within 7–14 business days. Contact Modern Yard for full warranty terms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does six feet describe each board's length?
Six feet is the nominal height of the complete fence section. The assembly includes the vertical boards, upper and lower rails and clearance beneath the fence. Follow the engineering dimensions for the fence height and post positions.
What do four Redwood packs include?
Each pack supplies four composite boards, so four packs provide the sixteen upright pieces. Order the Vertical Fence Rail Set and steel post products separately. For several sections, count shared posts once and include supports at free ends.
What upkeep do the composite faces require?
Clean the Redwood board surfaces with mild soap, water and a soft brush or cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaning tools and harsh chemicals. The Redwood faces need no regular painting, staining or sealing. Check the separate material and warranty details for the metal parts.
