Nine LINE slats give this horizontal metal fence its nominal one-inch spacing. Private Black powder coating finishes the galvanized steel infill. The section is nominally 8 × 4 ft, with a 47-inch drawing height and a separate three-inch ground clearance.
Nine horizontal slats give this LINE fence system clean lines and an open look for outdoor spaces. Powder-coated galvanized steel helps resist corrosion and outdoor wear. Steel posts support the rows. Aluminum spacers and stainless steel L Connectors hold the pattern.
Use this nine-row design's own hardware quantities: eighteen Base Connectors, sixteen Stackable Connectors and two L Connectors. The metal fence options help compare open LINE patterns before selecting the matching parts.
Nine slats account for 4.5 packs. Round the combined order up to whole packs. Cut the 98-inch stock post for this In-Ground layout.
The post stands 49 inches above ground with 16 inches below. Count shared supports once. Two matching panels in one straight, freestanding run need three posts. Two separate panels need four. Wall or gate connections need their own layout check.
When comparing 8 × 4 ft fence panels, note the different layouts. Half-inch LINE uses eleven slats, a 49-inch height and half-inch ground clearance. This nominal one-inch version uses nine slats, a 47-inch height and three-inch ground clearance. Choose the matching connectors and post layout.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an aluminum fence with a black finish?
Steel forms the LINE slats and posts. The Base and Stackable Connectors are aluminum. Stainless steel L Connectors finish the top joints. Private Black is the finish color.
Why do nine slats have a 4.5-pack material requirement?
LINE slats come two per pack. One bay uses nine pieces, so five whole packs provide ten with one spare. Combine the slat count across a longer run before rounding the purchase. Keep the spare outside the installed nine-slat pattern.
For example, two of these fence panels need eighteen slats, supplied by nine packs. Their hardware adds up to thirty-six Base Connectors, thirty-two Stackable Connectors and four L Connectors. Confirm those quantities in the project quote when ordering the whole kits.
Does nominal one-inch spacing mean a one-inch ground gap?
The one-inch label names the spacing pattern within the infill. Its matching connectors set the installed opening. This item's drawing gives three inches of ground clearance and a 47-inch fence height. Use each dimension for its own location.
