A single Charcoal board accompanies eleven Redwood boards in this composite privacy fence. The twelve boards join to make the closed horizontal infill of a nominal 6 × 6 ft section. Private Black framing outlines the two-color face. The quantities identify the color mix without specifying a vertical sequence.
Redwood and Charcoal name the composite board colors. Wood fibers and recycled plastic form their wood plastic composite cores, with wood-grain surfaces for a timber appearance. The boards resist moisture, insect damage and decay. Their routine care requires no painting, staining or sealing.
The fence system combines this infill with aluminum top and bottom rails and galvanized steel posts. One rail set holds all twelve boards. The In-Ground drawing shows a 72-inch fence height, 74-inch above-ground posts and a separate ½-inch clearance below the fence. Use these dimensions alongside the nominal size when planning the installation.
Explore horizontal composite fence configurations to compare composite fence panels and layouts. For several sections, count shared posts once and include free ends. Keep each board color's requirements separate when calculating packs. Any gate opening needs its own gate assembly and component list.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in Charcoal and Redwood boards and covered metal fence parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Covered Charcoal and Redwood board color changes: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective boards or parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Redwood mean this panel uses solid wood lumber?
Redwood identifies the color of the Modern Yard™ composite boards. Both colors in this panel combine wood fibers and plastic. The posts and rail set are separate metal products. Choose this page for the specified eleven-Redwood, one-Charcoal mixture rather than treating the twelve pieces as one interchangeable board color.
How do I plan the packs and posts for a fence run?
Each section takes eleven Redwood boards and one Charcoal board. With four boards in each pack, the material shares are 2.75 Redwood packs and 0.25 Charcoal pack. Add the demand by color across the full run, then order complete packs. A standalone section needs two installed posts. Connected panels share posts at their joins, so count the actual support locations and add free ends. The one-post amount in Component Needs represents a connected bay's share.
What upkeep applies to the Redwood and Charcoal board faces?
Use water with mild soap and a soft brush or cloth to clean the composite surfaces. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive tools. The boards need no routine repainting, staining or sealing. This board-care guidance covers the infill; follow the applicable instructions for the metal posts, rails and any gate hardware.
