This corrugated metal gate has its own overhead connection. The Private Black metal fence gate combines four vertical steel panels with a powder-coated aluminum frame. Use this crossbeam setup with a 7 ft fence run. The gate leaf stays 6 ft high.
Cut the overhead crossbeam from separate LINE stock. Buy this stock separately from the corrugated panels and gate frame. Two In-Ground posts and the specified hardware complete this installation.
Nominally 3.5 ft wide, this single gate uses one framed leaf. The clear opening and post-center spacing are separate measurements in Specifications. Check those figures when comparing metal fence gates, and use this version's dimensions to plan the posts.
Compare the corrugated metal fence system for the fixed fence panels beside the gate. For your fencing projects, follow this gate's opening dimensions and component list.

- Four vertical FireGuard panels form the Private Black full-privacy infill within a welded aluminum frame. The corrugated panels and frame are separate products in the component list.
- The posts, panels and crossbeam use powder-coated galvanized steel; the frame and Base Connectors use powder-coated aluminum. Specifications list stainless steel grades for the L Connectors, screws and lock.
- One crossbeam spans the single opening above the moving leaf, using separate LINE stock. The quarter-pack LINE share and half-set hardware share record material use, rather than retail pack sizes.
- Two In-Ground posts provide the specified connection to a 7 ft fence run. Follow the Crossbeam post layout while keeping the moving gate leaf at its nominal 6 ft height between the two posts.

Limited warranty periods (residential / commercial use):
- Structural defects in covered metal gate parts: up to 25 / 10 years.
- Coastal metal coating defects: up to 5 / 3 years.
- Non-coastal metal coating defects: up to 15 / 10 years.
- Covered metal finish fading, all locations: up to 8 / 5 years.
For metal coating coverage, use the nearest shoreline of an ocean, sea or saltwater bay. Salt or brackish tidal estuaries also count. Measure in a straight line from the installed part. A distance of 10 miles or less is coastal; farther away is non-coastal.
Qualifying defects under normal use must meet the written terms, including color and coating claim conditions. Metal coverage applies only to covered parts and eligible factory finishes. The combination lock is outside the periods listed above. Contact Modern Yard for the applicable separate warranty terms.
Normal airborne coastal salt and salt spray alone do not exclude qualifying coating claims. The metal warranty excludes direct saltwater immersion or splash damage.
Remaining coverage transfers with property ownership. Products must stay at the original site. Keep records of the products and original purchase date. Transfer or replacement does not restart coverage.
For approved claims, Modern Yard refunds or replaces defective parts. The original net purchase price determines the amount. The amount drops over time under the warranty schedule.
Metal coating compensation is 100% in the term’s first half, 50% in the second. Other claims follow separate schedules.
We do not pay for labor, installation, removal, reinstallation, freight or shipping. This changes if required by law or if Modern Yard expressly agrees in writing.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the ordinary FireGuard gate measurements for this crossbeam version?
Follow the Crossbeam layout: 86 inches of post above ground and 28 inches below. Together, these lengths use a 114-inch post. The post centers sit 45⅝ inches apart, with a clear opening of approximately 42½ inches. Use these dimensions when you plan this version. The gate leaf stays 6 ft high where it connects to a 7 ft fence.
Keep the gate opening and the fence height as separate checks. A 7 ft fence run does not turn this into a 7 ft moving gate. The crossbeam sits above the leaf and stays in place when the gate opens. Its top is 2 inches below the post top. Allow for the 1-inch gap below the gate, and follow the listed hinge positions for this frame.
How many FireGuard panel packs does this gate use?
The gate uses four panels. Each sales pack holds three panels, so the material share for this gate is 4/3 packs. That fraction is a planning figure, not a separate four-panel pack. Confirm the final number of whole packs for the complete order. Count the panels for the gate and the fixed sections separately before you combine the order.
For this single gate, plan one welded frame, four FireGuard panels and two posts. Add the combination lock, the LINE stock and the hardware share shown in the list. A number such as 0.25 pack or 0.5 set records material use, not a new retail pack size. Count usable stock at the project level before finalizing quantities. Do not multiply the single gate's crossbeam by the panel count: four infill panels still use one overhead beam.
Is the crossbeam part of the corrugated panel supply?
No. When comparing fence kits, check which parts each pack includes. This gate's frame does not supply the overhead crossbeam. Cut that beam from separate LINE stock and use the hardware listed for the Crossbeam version. The hardware share covers two Base Connectors, two L Connectors and eight screws. This hardware kit is not a complete gate kit. The frame, corrugated panels, two posts and lock remain separate entries in Component Needs.
The half-set share does not mean that every part in the retail hardware kit goes on the gate. This crossbeam uses the connectors and eight screws named above; it uses no EVA strip. Keep the material descriptions separate, too. The corrugated panels, posts and crossbeam use powder-coated galvanized steel. The gate frame and Base Connectors use powder-coated aluminum. The L Connectors use 201 stainless steel, and the lock uses 304 stainless steel. Check the Parts and Materials list for the screws and PVC strips.
