Modern Yard Air™ slats can be cleaned using a soft white cloth, warm water, and mild soap, followed by a thorough rinse with clean water. For dirt, dust, or light stains, an all-purpose cleaner such as Chomp® Gutter Cleaner can also be used effectively. Do not use solvent-based or abrasive cleaners, including Goof Off®, graffiti removers, nail polish remover, or similar products, as these may damage the coating and surface finish. Regular, gentle cleaning will help maintain the appearance and performance of your Air™ slats over time.

Yes. Modern Yard Air™ slats can be cut to length on site to accommodate different yard layouts and design requirements. The standard slat dimensions are 94-1/2" × 3-1/4" × 3/4". Slats can be trimmed using a fine-tooth circular saw blade designed for aluminum or thin-gauge metal, or other tools with similar performance. For best results, always follow proper cutting practices and safety guidelines when working with metal materials.

Like all metal products, Modern Yard Air™ fencing can become warm under direct sunlight, but it is designed to manage heat more effectively than solid metal panels. The diamond-shaped louver design and specially engineered Air connectors create natural spacing—approximately 1 inch between slats (and adjustable during installation if a wider gap is preferred). This open design allows air and light to pass through, helping heat dissipate more efficiently. As airflow moves through the slats, it helps carry heat away from the panel surface. As a result, Air™ fencing typically feels warm rather than excessively hot, even in sunny conditions.
